Engaging in illegal activities on the property, such as drug use or trafficking, can lead to legal trouble for both the tenant and landlord. The Governor of Lagos State has revoked the Certificate of Occupancy of many Landlords recently as a result of illegal activities perpetrated by tenants.
Fire Incidence as a result of Tenant’s Carelessness
A number of Landlords have also lost their life investments when their buildings were razed down by fire caused by careless teants who were careless with the use of electric hot-plate, also known as halogens, candles, gas cookers, etc.
